CENTOS POETRY

If you forget me tonight, I’ll rise

To think that I do not have her.
To feel that I have lost her
And you may be another’s
I can write the saddest lines

If you leave me tonight ,
You know how this is:
The night wind revolves in the sky and sings
The crystal moon, at the red branch

The slow autumn at my window
Everything carries me to you
In me nothing is extinguished or forgotten

If suddenly you forget me
I can write the saddest lines
You may write me down in history
Love is short, forgetting is so long
My soul is not satisfied that it has lost you
Your infinite eyes, will be another’s

If you think it long and mad
And decided to leave me at the shore
If little by little you stop loving me
I can write the saddest lines

Well, now, I shall stop loving you little by little
Remember, I shall lift my arms
Remember, that on that day at that hour you feel that you are destined for me, seek for another land.
Though this be the last pain that you make me suffer
and these the last verses that I write for you

Just like the moons and suns, with certainty of tides, I’ll rise
If you forget me tonight
I can write the saddest lines
Up from the past that’s rooted in pain
still like air I rise

Tonight I can write the saddest lines
If you forget me
(Pablo neruda)
Still I rise
(Maya Angelou)
